25 May

The Box, of of Toronto’s newer and more eccentric studio spaces, has been up and running for some time now, but is starting to get more notice as a performance venue. Emphasizing that evolution of purpose, is The Freeway Strangler, a new production from the administrators of The Box in in association with Straeon FilmWorks. Here is a condensed version of their press release:

As a serial killer runs rampant in Los Angeles, four Hollywood actors, confusing desire for happiness, systematically love and destroy each other in their quest for success. One character will wind up dead, and another will be revealed as the Freeway Strangler! It’s Clueless, meets Seinfeld, meets Clue!

Performed in a theatre space, unlike any other! The Box Toronto: Studio and Theatre was started in early 2013 by actor and producer, Vikki Velenosi and designed to support the development of new theatre work in downtown Toronto.

“Space is such an invaluable part of the creation process. When you have the opportunity to work in a unique space, free from some of the boundaries that you might find in more traditional theatres, the possibilities that open up for the artist seem endless and the audience ultimately enjoys a richer experience. ” – Vikki Velenosi

The Box Toronto is located in one of the coveted, full of character studios in the Coffin Factory Lofts. The theatre provides the perfect atmosphere for this raw, twisted and satirical play.

Directed by world renown acting coach, Jock MacDonald. Featuring the wildly talented, “Friday the 13th” star, Craig Thomas, with Vikki Velenosi, Altair Vincent, Dony Lugo and Scott McCallum. Set and Lighting by Bryan Steele. Fight Choreography by Christian Feliciano.
