Preview: Cabaret Brise-Jour

cabaret4The Theatre Centre (which, on Mar. 19, will make their big move into their new home at the picturesque Carnegie Library building) has some special guests dropping by next month. The much lauded theatro-musical ensemble L’Orchestre d’Hommes-Orchestres returns to Toronto to present their quirky homage to composer Kurt Weill, enigmatically titled Cabaret Brise-Jour. With LODHO specializing in a blend of Brechtian stagecraft and inventive musicality, their take on Weill classics promises to be a match made in performing arts heaven.

If that weren’t enough, LODHO will be receiving the prestigious Glenn Gould Protégé Prize during their stay in Toronto. The prize will be presented by renowned director Robert Lepage to LODHO at a special matinee performance on March 29th.
